Still the best fried chicken in town! No one even comes close to their delicious recipe. The owner and staff are always friendly.

This place is soooooo good. They have excellent customer service and food. They were accommodating to my fish allergy as well. This is a take out spot, that does not allow dine in. You walk in, place you order, and then receive it within about 5 minutes. I got the chicken sandwich that was so flavorful and delicious (not the greatest picture below).

This is better than any of the chains.Nice crust on the bird,good sized pieces.I was a bit surprised by their wings.My wife had a side of Mac n cheese,she's a bit of a Mac n cheese snob,She liked it so I'll say it must have been good. We will certainly return.

The fried chicken is better than the national chains and the price is pretty good too. The place doesn't look like much but it's not a dine-in restaurant, this is place that you get you food and go. Make sure you have time because it's made to order

They're amazing every time always fresh , worth the price for sure. They're customer service is good for the most part can't say I had a bad experience. The mood and setting of the restaurant was very nostalgic and the wait wasn't long.

While endless searching the providers on GrubHub that delivers out to Prince George County we stumbled upon this Skillet. First thing on my checklist was the location. Im thinking I'm originally out of Petersburg and I know the area and I'm thinking I don't know... A quick glance down at the menu and it caught my eye. PORK CHOP DINNER and wait did I just read correctly, CHICKEN LIVERS? Whoa, hold on. Petersburg is trying to rebuild and bring back the support local so maybe I really should "do my part" and a bonus, it is delivery service :) . I had some questions I called ,spoke directly with manager was most friendly. He offered recommendations & answered questions. The GrubHub delivery guy was on time and waiting for my order and delivered it to me before the estimated time. Awesome job. After divvying up the food we grazed. I could not wait. I ordered the pork chop dinner ( yes it comes with 2), 2 sides Mashed Potatoes (Brown Gravy), seasoned I believe just right. Green Beans lightly seasoned very good clean flavor and a roll (my roll was a little dry so a little hard to judge flavor). Okay now to the goodness, the 2 Porkchops, 1 was a little thinner than the other(shows they are hand cut not machine processed) but you could tell it was like seasoned, dredged in a batter of milk,egg perhaps and the layed down in a soft bed of flour and rolled over and over till covered, then slowly lowered into a hot oil and cooked to a "Golden Brown" . You can feel where I am heading with this. These pork chops were delicious. Outstanding! You can not find a restaurant to cook pork chops like this anymore. Thats because they are usually found at home! The Corn Nuggets are a treat (kind of like a deep fried cream corn hushpuppie.) The Greens were pretty good. A seasoned green that was not overly powerful. The Okra was really good. They went really fast. Corn on the Cob was cooked well, butter flavor though and through. Good stuff. We ordered the Fried Chicken Dinner 2 sides,roll and a Chicken Tender dinner 2 sides, roll, if I go into detail about how they perhaps prepare the Tenders and Chicken they may censor my review to the Adult food section so I will just let you know that they are exquisite. Those tender, flaky yet crunch crust just enticingly wait to be pinched off and nibbled. After speaking with the manager, placing my order on GrubHub and after exploring the menu I believe that this place its food & service from my experience deserves the name "GOLDEN" in its name Golden Skillet.
